Perhaps you were created for such a time as this

There is a verse I have carried for years, and I mean carried it like that special trinket that sinks to the bottom of my purse and somehow makes the move every single time I switch bags. Esther 4:14. Mordecai’s words to Esther, when she was too scared to act, too scared of what it might cost her: “Perhaps you were created for such a time as this.”

I found it during one of the messier stretches of my life, right in the thick of starting over… again : ) And let’s be honest, starting over sounds inspirational on a mug, but living it is mostly just a lot of ugly crying and questionable decision-making at 2 a.m. Somewhere in that mess, starting over started to mean something very specific to me, something it took me a long time to name. For years, I had made myself smaller to keep the peace in a relationship that needed me quiet to survive. I hid my voice, my talent, my own dreams, all so I wouldn’t rock a boat I should have gotten out of years earlier.

“Perhaps you were created for such a time as this” sticker on my keyboard.

I have carried this verse ever since, and not quietly either. I put it on shirts. I put it on stickers. It still lives on my keyboard today, staring back at me every single time I sit down to work, like a sticky-note-sized life coach who refuses to let me forget. Some days building this new life feels like a parade. Other days it’s just showing up, wildly unglamorous, healing a little, growing a little, one ordinary Tuesday at a time, sticker included.

That’s the thing about words like this. They don’t just comfort you once and quietly retire. They stick around. Literally, in my case. They show up again on the hard mornings and the boring ones too, doing their quiet, stubborn work whether I’m paying attention or not.

Which is exactly why I’m introducing a new collection: Bible Verses. Words that have carried people for centuries, the same way this one carried me into an entirely new life, pulled from a real story, meant to hold you the same way this one held me.

This collection is different from my Blessings collection, and on purpose. A blessings holds you when things are hard, that’s baked right into the name. My faith is bigger than that for me. It’s not just the thing I reach for when life gets difficult. It’s also where the joy lives. The gratitude. Esther 4:14 is proof of that. It found me during an uncertain, scary season of my life, but the feeling underneath it was never fear. It was pure excitement. That yes, this is your time feeling.

The Bible Verses collection starts with Created. Come see if there’s a word in there that’s waiting for you.
